Dressed to impress

NEMMS JV’s procurement team regularly review and assess all of our suppliers in the various categories on our supply chain. Our Indigenous Business Team work with Procurement to identify and foster relationships with Indigenous Businesses who may be able to engage with us at varying levels across our supply chain. This is an important part of our Indigenous Business strategy.

At the beginning of the year our procurement team reviewed our PPE suppliers and we are proud to announce that our competitive PPE tender was won by Countryman Safety. Through the stringent tender process the opportunity arose to work with Lawrence Hillary, a Yamatiji man from the Nanda Language group in the Mid West region of WA. Countryman Safety is a newly formed majority Indigenous owned Safety Equipment (PPE) and workwear supply company based in Perth. Lawrence, working with Countryman’s capability partner Safeman WA will be supplying workwear and PPE to various worksites for NEMMS JV.

Countryman Safety aims to create positive outcomes for their customers, staff and Indigenous Australians. NEMMS JV’s values align with Countryman Safety and we are proud to work together and support the strengthening of competitive, quality Indigenous Businesses.

Lawrence said “As a majority owned aboriginal company we have a commitment to aligning ourselves with companies like NEMMS JV who are invested in employing aboriginal people and working with aboriginal business’s to positively impact the lives of aboriginal people, we look forward to an ongoing working relationship with NEMMS JV.”

We are proud to be expanding our Indigenous suppliers through our regular tender process and this recent PPE award gives us confidence in our Indigenous Business strategy taking steps towards positive outcomes for Indigenous Australians. What better time than National Reconciliation week to announce the award as we reflect how we, as a company, are actively strengthening relationships between Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians towards reconciliation.
